Salesforce is expanding its Data 360 portfolio, integrating with Informatica to enhance the quality of core business data and enrich MuleSoft with real-time signals.
Officials said the collaboration moves beyond simple data integration to create a unified engine that provides the trusted context essential for applications and artificial intelligent (AI) agents to operate intelligently and safely.
The expansion is one of the first since Salesforce completed its acquisition of Informatica, a leader in enterprise AI-powered cloud data management. The acquisition brings Informatica’s data catalog, integration, governance, quality and privacy, metadata management, and Master Data Management (MDM) services to the Salesforce platform, establishing a unified and comprehensive data foundation for agentic AI — and enabling AI agents to operate safely, responsibly, and at scale across the modern enterprise.
Providing Context
By combining Salesforce and Informatica’s enterprise metadata with Data 360’s harmonized sub-sec real-time context and MuleSoft’s integration strength, guessing is replaced with reasoning, said Rahul Auradkar, EVP & GM – Unified Data Services, Data 360 & AI Foundations at Salesforce.
“AI without context is just guessing or hallucinating,” said Auradkar. “We aren’t just unlocking trapped data; we are giving AI the grounding it needs with trusted context to operate safely — ensuring that when an agent acts, it does so with the full weight of enterprise truth behind it.”
Data Management
The solution is built on three core components. First, Enterprise Understanding (Data 360 and Informatica) integrates Informatica’s Master Data Management (MDM), Data Catalog, and Data Lineage to give AI a shared vocabulary and a verified map of all business assets.
Second, Real-Time Signals & Action (MuleSoft) delivers live operational signals, ensuring agents know what is happening right now and can act securely. Finally, Unified Context (Data 360 with Zero Copy) synthesizes this information into a single, harmonized interface, making rich context instantly available without moving data.
This data layer serves as the foundation for the Agentforce 360 platform, giving it the memory and reasoning needed to understand business definitions, history, and real-time status. This context empowers the subsequent layers of the platform: the app layer, which accesses established business logic; the agent layer, which orchestrates AI agents; and the experience layer, which deploys agents across all customer and employee channels.
Informatica, Data 360, MuleSoft, and Agentforce 360 Platform are available today.
